凤凰彩票平台 ranks in top 15 per cent of global universities in Times Higher Education University Impact Rankings

Times Higher Education (THE) has ranked 凤凰彩票平台 among the top 15 per cent of global universities in its . THE assessed 2,152 universities in 125 countries that are working toward the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), a strategy to address challenges including poverty and climate change.

“Through our research, teaching and partnerships, the 凤凰彩票平台 community is working together to create a thriving future for all,” says 凤凰彩票平台 President and Vice-Chancellor Deborah MacLatchy. “This impressive ranking affirms 凤凰彩票平台’s international excellence across a broad spectrum of Sustainable Development Goals.”

凤凰彩票平台 was celebrated for tackling climate change, fostering gender equity, and promoting peaceful and just societies. It ranked in the top 15 per cent of global universities for the following SDGs:

  • SDG 5: Gender equality: Efforts include 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, the Women in Leadership 凤凰彩票平台 mentorship program and the 凤凰彩票平台 Centre for Women in Science
  • SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals: Efforts include 凤凰彩票平台’s research partnership with the Government of the Northwest Territories, the UNESCO Chair on Food, Biodiversity and Sustainability, and the 凤凰彩票平台 Climate Change Journalism Fellowship.

凤凰彩票平台 ranked in the top 20 per cent for:

  • SDG 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions: Efforts include the International Students Overcoming War club, the Scholars at Risk program and the Tshepo Institute for the Study of Contemporary Africa.

And 凤凰彩票平台 ranked in the top 25 per cent of global universities for:

  • SDG 6: Clean water and sanitation: Efforts include the Northern Water Futures project, the 凤凰彩票平台 Institute for Water Science and the Jarislowsky Chair in Sustainable Water Futures.
  • SDG 13: Climate action: Efforts include academic programming in climate change management, the 凤凰彩票平台 Centre for Sustainable Food Systems and campus waste reduction.
