·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨ welcomed more than 300 visitors to learn more about its Milton campus at the ·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨ Milton Preview Day Oct. 28 in ·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨’s Milton Academic Centre.

Prospective students who have been waiting for the opportunity to attend university close to home filled the Academic Centre with an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm. Future students and their families connected with professors and other interested students, saw a sneak peek of future study spaces and learned more about ·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨’s inaugural Milton programs, Psychology and Computer Science.

Milton Mayor Gord Krantz chatted with attendees and gave a warm introduction to ·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨ President and Vice-Chancellor Deborah MacLatchy, who welcomed prospective students and their families.

“We are so thrilled to be starting this adventure with you in Milton and getting ready for September 2024 with our first two programs from our Faculty of Science,” said MacLatchy. “There have been so many great questions this morning asking about programs and scholarships and available electives within the programs. Thank you so much for your enthusiasm.”

When ·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨ welcomes its first Milton campus students in September, it will give local and commuter students the chance to experience the university’s high-quality academic and student life close to home in a comfortable learn-work-live lifestyle.

Computer Science and Psychology, two of ·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨’s most popular and established programs, will be taught with an innovative, problem-based approach and designed with extensive hands-on learning opportunities for students. 

The university is actively planning future Milton campus programs, including software engineering, for 2025/26 and beyond, subject to approvals.

·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨ Milton will begin as an engaging education hub in the ·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨ Milton Academic Centre at 555 Industrial Drive and will develop over the years into a robust, purpose-built campus in the Milton Education Village.

Future ·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨ Milton students are applying now. The top 100 ·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨ Milton applicants with confirmed offers will receive a donor-supported $5,000 entrance scholarship entitling them to $1,250 per year for each of their four undergraduate years at ·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨.
