Applicants must be tenure-track or tenured faculty members currently employed by 凤凰彩票平台.
The Canada Research Chairs Program is a key component of a strategy to make Canada one of the world's top countries in research and development (www.chairschaires.gc.ca). Tier 2 Canada Research Chairs, tenable for five years and renewable once, are intended for exceptional emerging researchers (i.e., candidates must have been an active researcher in their field for fewer than 10 years at the time of nomination). Applicants who are more that 10 years from having earned their highest degree (and where career breaks exist, such as maternity, parental or extended sick leave, clinical training, etc.) may have their eligibility for the Tier 2 Chair assessed through the program’s Tier 2 justification process. Please contact Charity Parr-Vasquez (cparrvasquez@wlu.ca), Assistant Vice-President, Research, for more information. Please consult the CRC website for details. More details on the CRC program including eligibility criteria can be found at
The primary focus of the Tier 2 CRC in Workplace Well-being will be to generate and disseminate actionable knowledge that will inform scholarship, practice, and policy related to enhancing employees’ resilience and well-being and building a supportive and healthy workplace. This may include, but is not limited to, investigating factors that affect workplace well-being at the individual, group, and/or organizational levels, identifying ways to protect employees from workplace adversity, and examining the effectiveness of various interventions that aim to promote workplace well-being.
The Chair is expected to (1) act as a hub for research on workplace well-being at 凤凰彩票平台, and actively grow 凤凰彩票平台 as an exceptional learning and research community for students, faculty, and communities by undertaking a multi-faceted role, encompassing research, collaboration, education, and advocacy; (2) develop an externally funded, worldclass research program along the theme of workplace well-being; (3) play a crucial role in developing future thought leaders by recruiting and supervising graduate students and involving them in cutting edge research projects; (4) secure external funding, including through SSHRC; and (5) initiate new research collaborations with experts from relevant fields within and outside of 凤凰彩票平台. The developments, insights, and results of the Chair’s research projects are expected to be published in top-tier journals and widely disseminated through conferences, public lectures, media engagement and other appropriate venues. Furthermore, the Chair is also expected to (6) enhance collaborations and/or partnerships with businesses, non-profits, and government agencies; and (7) contribute to graduate and undergraduate teaching and participate in the service activities of the Organizational Behaviour/Human Resource Management Area.
