Research Facilities

• Institutional Performance Objective: Maintain quality research space for faculty and student research.
• Indicator: Faculty and student research spaces are operational throughout the year.
• Reported Outcome: 66,367 square feet of research space maintained and operational across all ·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨.

Research Resources

• Institutional Performance Objective: Maintain the level of institutional support related to dissemination of faculty research through our .
• Institutional Performance Indicator: The number of downloads of faculty research from the institutional repository.
• Reported Outcome: Support 489,423 downloads of faculty research from the institutional repository, a 20% increase over 2019/2020, a 47% increase over 18/19, a 56% increase over 2017/18 and an 88% increase since 2016/17.

Regulatory Requirements and Accreditation

• Institutional Performance Objective: Maintain annual reporting compliance as mandated by the Tri-Council policy statement.
• Institutional Performance Indicator: All active protocols submit the required annual report.
• Reported Outcome: Remained compliant with Tri-Council policies for Research Ethics Board.

Management and Administration of an Institution’s Research Enterprise

• Institutional Performance Objective: Continue to support Tri-Council grant applications and process Tri-Council awards.
• Institutional Performance Indicator: The number and quality of Tri-Council grant applications being submitted by ·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨ faculty and the number of successful awards.
• Reported Outcome: Supported the submission of grants totalling over $23 million, including 107 Tri-Council grants.  ·ï»Ë²ÊƱƽ̨ is continuing to see high success rates with a SSHRC Partnership Engage Grant success rate of 100% and success rates for the SSHRC Insight Grants above national average. Due to COVID-19 applications submitted were lower in certain portfolios. 

Intellectual Property and Knowledge Mobilization

• Institutional Performance Objective: Maintain the level of institutional support for industry-led projects.
• Institutional Performance Indicator: The number of new industry-led projects initiated.
• Reported Outcome: Industry-led project funding increased by 90% over 2019/20, 100% over 2018/19, 324% over 2017/2018 and by 378% since 2016/17.
